The cast-aluminum frame has an unmatched strength-to-weight ratio, and the new mid-arbor design yields plenty of backing capacity for battling long-running fish. Hawthorne 60-6430 ~ 3” ~ LHW/RHW ~ EXC- ~  This reel was made for Montgomery Ward and features a black frame, solid silver spool, ivorine bakelite handle, silver on/off clicker knob, 2-screw silver reversible line guard, and smooth working single action mechanics.  The reel can be used as  LHW or RHW.  The line guard is presently set up in the LHW position.  This affordably priced classic and proudly made in the USA. $39

Bean Pocket Water ~ 3” ~ LHW/RHW ~ As New ~ This simple and reliable offering was machined from 6000-series barstock aluminum and feature an attractive gray anodized finish designed to withstand the elements and typical wear, ventilated frame and spool, ported foot, black 2-screw latch plate cover, black winding knob with a black counterbalance pin, and smooth dual pawl and spring drag system that closely mirrors the Hardy Lightweight series reels.  It is currently set up for RHW (can be converted to LHW) and comes loaded with new SA Mastery WF-5 line and is stored in a white soft cloth bag.  An unmarked white box is also included.  I don’t think this reel has seen the water. $99 $75

Daiwa SF 706 & 2 Extra Spools ~ 3 1/4” ~ EXC+ ~ This vintage single action model for 4, 5, 6 lines is similar to the SA System One series reels and features an attractive gray finish, silver ventilated spool, 2 screw black latch plate cover, positive grip tri-side black handle and a smooth adjustable dual click-pawl drag. It is presently set up for RHW and loaded with an unknown light blue line and comes in a black string satchel. One extra spool is loaded with a newish Cortland 333 Pro WF-5S full sinking line.  The other is loaded with a newish Cortland 444 DT-5 line. This affordable reel with low mileage is a nice find for the budget-minded angler. $75 $50

Hardy Marquis Disc 5 ~ 3 ¼” ~ RHW/LHW ~ EXC+ ~ Hardy recently brought back this classic reel which was discontinued several years ago.  This is one of the English-made House of Hardy models that features an attractive dark gun-metal gray frame, ventilated quick release silver spool with 2-screw latch plate cover, single screw reversible nickel silver line guard, riveted foot, black knob on an alloy post and black drag adjustment knob.  The disc drag system has that pleasant Hardy Marquis purr on the retrieve.  It is presently set up for LHW.  The reel comes loaded with new Cortland 444 Peach DT-6 line and stored in its original blue vinyl Hardy labeled zip case.  There are a few tiny marks and a light scuff on the frame near the foot from light use.  This is a clean example of this model and a super find for the Hardy enthusiast. $195

Martin 65 and 2 Extra Spools ~ 3 1/4” ~ RHW/LHW ~ EXC+ ~  This sweet looking reel from Mohawk, NY features a black reinforced aluminum frame, ventilated silver spool, 2-screw silver latch plate cover, smooth silver foot, black handle on an alloy post,  metal on/off clicker knob, and smooth working single action mechanics that can be used as RHW or LHW.  It is presently set up for RHW and comes loaded with an Orvis Buckskin WF-5 line.  Neither extra spool is lined.  The reel has seen very light use and the extra spools do not appear to have ever been lined.  The reel comes with a white soft cloth bag and original box with manual.  Each spool comes with their original box.  This affordably priced reel with its 2 extra spool gives plenty of options that should cover most fishing situation. $75 $50

Orvis Battenkill II Large Arbor ~ 3 1/4” ~ LHW/RHW ~ As New ~ This lightweight Orvis large arbor is machined from 6061 aircraft bar stock and is widely regarded as one of the best values out there . It features an attractive gold finish, ventilated frame and spool, gold foot, positive grip black winding knob on an alloy post with a silver counterbalance pin, and a silky smooth center line drag system with centrally located large drag adjuster knob.  It is currently set up for RHW and can be converted to LHW.  The reel comes loaded with a new Hardy Marksman WF-5 line and is stored in its original Orvis labeled zip case.  The original box and manual are also included. Seamaster Mark II Dual Mode ~ 3 1/4” ~ RHW ~ As New ~ The inspiration for these phenomenal reels was born in the 1950s in Bob McChristian’s Capt. Mack's Tackle Shack in Miami, Florida. By the 1960s, Seamaster fly reels were (and still are) considered to be among the finest salt water fly reels ever produced. The remain highly sought by salt water fly fishing aficionados world-wide. This classic reel features an attractive gold anodized frame with conical back purposefully designed for use in the salt, solid black perfectly balanced spool, powerful and silky smooth industry best drag with strategically placed positive grip coin-edged drag adjustment, dual exotic wood knobs and 2 screw smooth gold foot. The original owner’s name is engraved on the face of the drag adjustment. Seamaster reels are renowned for their dual mode system (patented in 1987) which enables the crank to stay in place and not go backwards upon line pay and would engage upon line retrieve. Cortland CLX III ~ 4” ~ RHW/LHW ~ EXC+ ~ This salmon/big quarry reel was made in Argentina for Cortland by STH and features a durable black epoxy finish, ventilated frame and spool, 2-screw quick release latch plate cover, 2 screw foot, grooved black adjustable drag regulator, twin sided sliver line guard, and grooved black knob with silver counterbalance.  CLX Reels were made with a stainless steel spindle and an interchangeable cassette system designed for quick line changes at an economical price.  The drag system features a large friction plate for smooth fightin’ control and covered drag pad for extra drag. This reel shows signs of limited use only.  It can be converted for use as a LHW or RHW reel (presently set up for RHW) and comes loaded with a newish Cortland 333 Bass WF-8 line. $75 $50
